FAQs about the Master Program "Mobile Robotics"
The FAQs are divided into different sections. The first section deals with frequently asked questions about the application process, the second section with everything that is important before you start your studies. The third section answers frequently asked questions that arise during your studies. The FAQs are only available in English and are updated regularly.

Shortcuts to the different FAQs
The Mobile Robotics study program addresses highly motivated students with an excellent Bachelor’s degree in computer science, geodesy, or related subjects such as electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or similar. Students are expected to have a background in mathematics, programming (e.g., Python), and basic engineering skills.
You can only apply during the application period, which is published on the website. Applications are submitted via the application portal of the university.
Applications via email or sent by postal service are not accepted.
Due to the large number of applications we need some time to evaluate all applications in detail. We will do our best to process the applications as fast as possible. Please refrain from inquiring repeatedly

Yes, you can apply without finishing your bachelor. We need an official document that states the missing courses and the corresponding credits.

There are no application fees.
Yes, you have to upload a APS certificate during the application process.
No, you do not need an official test. But you have to upload a certificate which states the medium of instruction of your bachelor program.
The credits will be converted to ECTS during the review process.
The University of Bonn is a public university, meaning that it does not charge tuition; it also free to apply for admission. All students must, however, pay the so-called social contribution (or semester fee) once per semester, the amount of which is democratically agreed on by student representatives.

No, that is not possible. All requirements have to be fulfilled with the bachelor degree.

If you will not be able to start your studies in the semester you’ve applied for, you do not need to register as a student. You should apply again for the next semester intake as soon as the application portal is open for the next intake in the upcoming winter semester.

As soon as the enrollment is finished please activate your Uni-ID and your student uni mail address as soon as possible as all communication during your study will be to this address.
As the housing market in Bonn is challenging it is not easy to find a room. We would therefore advise you to start actively looking for a room, an apartment, shared accommodation or a temporary solution at an early stage. Unlike in other countries, you are not allocated accommodation when you enroll at a German university. On the website you find the most important information.

For a good start in Bonn attend the welcome event and the lectures in person (on time) and get in touch with your classmates. Also take care to the communicated deadlines.
If you contact the examination office or the Study Program Manager only use the official uni student email address. Emails from other email addresses will not be answered. Do not forget to indicate your degree program and student ID number whenever you make an inquiry.
If you are not able to attend a exam due to health issues , you need to see a doctor immediately. The doctor has to fill out the form provided on the website.

The form has to be send to the examination office. Please also inform the lecturer that you are not attending the exams.
The exam dates are published on the website in the area of "Examination".
The date will be published in the beginning of the semester.
If you forgot to register for the modules during the registration period, there is normally nothing we can do about that.
If you forgot to register for the exam during the registration period, there is normally nothing we can do about that. You have to wait for the next exam.
Registration and de-registration are only possible until one week prior to the exam. Afterwards your registration is binding.
You have to finish all mandatory modules (general mandatory modules and both project modules).
